Yesterday was an exciting day as sbaOpen was officially released to the general public. We are all excited and looking forward to the opportunities ahead with our growing community.
The service has launched with our first three modules (GATHER, ANALYZE and APPROVE) fully operational for 7(a) non-PLP loans. As we stand today, our community members have everything in place to work with their small business clients - from the time they have a warm lead through submission of the application to the SBA.
It has been quite an adventure upto this point, covering several months of design work and 8 months of development work that will continue into the foreseeable future. Over the last several weeks, our Alpha and Beta testing phases provided plenty of challenges, revealing new twists and turns in the SBA application up to the last minute. And, we're eager to hear from "outside the bubble" of our development process for ways we can improve the service, make our help files and tutorials more robust and increase the value our community receives.
We will use this blog as a way to keep you updated from "inside" sbaOpen as we find and fix outstanding issues, release enhancements and implement new features.
